During this immersive 2-day workshop, you’ll delve into the intricacies of jean construction. We’ll start with an engaging discussion on the history and evolution of denim, exploring the different types of denim fabric and their unique properties. You’ll learn how to select the right denim for your project and understand the importance of pre-washing and preparing your fabric.

The class will cover quick fit fixes, helping you to achieve the perfect fit for your body. Sally-Ann will share her expert tips and tricks for adjusting patterns to suit individual body shapes and sizes. She will also be available by appointment to help you fit your jean muslin, ensuring you leave with a pair of jeans that fits like a glove.

We’ll dive into detail stitching, where you’ll learn the secrets to creating professional-looking topstitching and decorative stitching. Sally-Ann will guide you through the process of installing zippers, adding pockets, and creating waistband finishes that rival ready-to-wear jeans. You’ll also see plenty of inspirational pictures to spark your creativity and give you ideas for customizing your jeans.
